To all our students, young and young at heart, welcome to Washington State University! In this day and age, non-traditional student groups are becoming more of the norm on college campuses across the nation, particularly in times of economic uncertainty, inspiring many working professionals and parents to pursue additional formal education as a springboard to future opportunities
in life.

The term Non-Traditional, when applied to college students, generally refers to adult learners, part-time students, and students with special needs. Non-traditional students often manage additional roles and responsibilities in life that make it more difficult to achieve their academic goals such as those related to having families and/or full-time jobs.

Given this reality, WSU is making new strides to provide supplemental support for everyone, thus enabling each student greater chances to achieve their academic and non-academic goals. Such support includes greater access to financial aid, campus and community resources, information, and
support networks.
